Please join us on Tuesday when we play Carroll as we say goodbye to 3 Seniors. We will honor Andrew Calomeris, Eric Rupprecht and Louie Brill for wearing the Good Counsel Blue and Gold. Come out and support your Falcons!
Down Goes DeMatha!
Some things are worth the wait and taste even sweeter when they arrive. Tonight in Olney the Falcons took down DeMatha 65-64 in another strong performance by the boys. Once again they played a well balanced game and got strong defensive efforts inside by Shane Eberle and JP Boyle. Offensively the Falcons moved the ball extremely well and got points out of everyone who was on the court tonight. It was a strong game and one that has the team coming together for the stretch run. Next up is PVI Friday in Fairfax.
GC Defeats Ireton 73-65
The boys defeated Bishop Ireton on Friday in Olney 73-65. The Falcons had a well balanced attack that saw Freshman Anthony Cowan score 20, Andrew Calomeris have 17, Byron Hawkins 15 and Tre Thomas chip in 10.
Ryken Game Rescheduled For Feb. 18th
The game scheduled for Friday January 25th has been cancelled and rescheduled on President's Day. JV will play at 4:00 Varsity will play at 6:00.
Long Journey Yields Win Over Ryken
St. Mary's Ryken, and the long drive that accompanies that game, proved no match for the Falcons on Sunday as the boys won 67-55. The Boys pick up their second conference win in a row as they prepare for Gonzaga on Tuesday night in Good Counsel.
Falcons Go To Lions Den and Survive
The Varsity boys survived a dogfight at Carroll Friday night. With both teams wanting the win the Falcons did enough to beat a determined Carroll team. Junior Tre Thomas and Andrew Calomeris had 14 each with Thomas making crucial free throws at the end. Byron Hawkins added 12 for the Falcons. Next up is Ryken Sunday in Southern MD. It's a nice day for a drive!
St. John's Game Moved to January 18th
The date of the St. John's game originally scheduled for Saturday January 19 was changed to Friday January 18th.
Jan 2nd Bishop Ireton Game Time Changed
The game times for the boys basketball games on January 2nd at Ireton have been changed. Freshman play at 2:30, JV plays at 4:15, Varsity at 6:00. We hope to see you there.
Falcons Fall in Championship Game 67-50
Facing a tough defensive Thomas Jefferson team from Brooklyn, N.Y. the boys came up short in the Piggly Wiggly title game. Overall the team played well. Byron Hawkins was named tournament MVP and Andrew Calomeris was named to the All Tournament team.
Good Counsel is back in the DMV with a WCAC game against Ireton in Virginia on January 2nd.

Falcons Continue to Roll in Second Round 79-64
The boys took down Roswell High 79-64 in the second round of the Piggly Wiggly. With great ball movement and strong defense the Falcons took control early and dominated most of the game. Byron Hawkins was on fire knocking down 3s and penetrating to lead the team with 33 points. Championship game is tomorrow at 8:30.
South Carolina Post and Courier
Falcons Beat James Island 63-45 in First Round
Led by Andrew Calomeris' and J.P. Boyle's Double Doubles the boys took down James Island in a rough first round game at Piggly Wiggly in South Carolina. Byron Hawkins also had 15. Good Counsel used tough defense and some well balanced scoring to pull away. The Falcons play Roswell tomorrow in the semi finals at 5:30.

Falcons Finish "Prep" Work Before Midterms
Good Counsel played like they had something to prove tonight against Georgetown Prep. Strong play by Byron Hawkins, Tre Thomas, Andrew Calomeris and Trevor Brown allowed the Falcons to pull away from Prep 69-51. Special thanks to our Falcon student cheering section which has been on its "A" game so far this year. Your support is greatly appreciated.
The Falcons take on Theodore Roosevelt Saturday at Trinity.
GC Takes Down Titans in Virginia Hoopfest
The boys traveled to Virginia and came back with the "W" tonight. After a slow first quarter the Falcons exploded the rest of the way and ran off a 66-43 victory against TC Williams. Next week the boys have 2 big HOME games before Christmas break. St. Johns comes to town Tuesday night and Georgetown Prep is in Olney Thursday. We need your help, come out and cheer the team to victory.

Congratulations to St. Johns on winning the GC Tip Off Classic over Caper Henry 63-60. Over 3 days there was some great basketball played and we all had the chance to see some future D1 players in action. Good Counsel Falls to Cape Henry on Day 2
In a game that pitted a highly talented Cape Henry team against an up and coming Good Counsel team fans were treated to intense and highly entertaining game. Cape Henry jumped out to a double digit lead but the Falcons just kept coming back in the game cutting the lead to 2 and 3 points at different points during the game before falling 66-65.
