GC Takes Tip Off Classic!

#14 Good Counsel defeated Georgetown Prep 62-60 to take their first ever GC Tip Off Classic crown on Saturday afternoon. Congratulations to Coach Mike Hibbs and the Varsity Falcons. Click here for DCSportsfan game pictures.


GC The 2007 tourney turned out to be the year of the Falcon. Maybe it was hosting the tournament in the new Olney gym but the teams came to town and GC took them down 1 at a time. An opening round win over Coolidge 76-62 sent the team into the second round and a matchup with Our Savior. In a tight game the Falcons pulled out a win 65-60 to setup a championship game against rival area scholl Georgetown Prep.
The Falcons fell behind but behind the play of tournament MVP, Jason Clarke, GC came back to beat Georgetown Prep 62-60 and claim their first Tip Off Classic crown. The Tip Off tourney's future looks bright and we look forward to hosting again in 2008
